Matthew Nemiroff Lyons is a Trustee of the Lorraine Hansberry Literary Trust and the Lorraine Hansberry Properties Trust that manages Hansberry’s intellectual properties. Between 1995 and 2000, as an assistant to Jewell Handy Gresham-Nemiroff, he organized and inventoried the Lorraine Hansberry Papers as preparation for transferring the collection to the New York Public Library’s Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture. The Lorraine Hansberry Papers include virtually all of Hansberry’s writings, autobiographical materials, journals, personal and professional correspondence, as well as related materials generated by Robert Nemiroff and Jewell Gresham-Nemiroff as executors or her estate. Mr. Lyons maintains a particular interest in promoting access to the Hansberry Papers and strengthening the partnership between the LHLT and the Schomburg Center.

Mr. Lyons is University Archivist at Drexel University. He previously served as Director of Archives and Collections Management at the Historical Society of Pennsylvania and  holds a Master of Library Service from Rutgers University. He has been writing about right-wing politics for over twenty-five years. His works include Insurgent Supremacists: The U. S. Far Right's Challenge to State and Empire (PM Press and Kersplebedeb Publishing, 2018); the title essay of Ctrl-Alt-Delete: An Antifascist Report on the Alternative Right (Kerspledebeb Publishing, 2017); Arier, Patriarchen, Übermenschen: die extreme Rechte in den USA [Aryans, Patriarchs, Supermen: The Far Right in the USA] (Unrast Verlag, 2015); and Right-Wing Populism in America (Guilford, 2000), co-authored with Chip Berlet, as well as numerous articles and blog posts.
